I love bags and an upcoming weekend break was the only excuse I needed to make a weekend bag.
A bit of internet searching resulted in finding a free PDF pattern on craftbits.com http://craftbits.com/project/make-your-own-weekender-bag/ this a easy to follow simple pattern.
I made a few changes: added a long adjustable strap, constructed a loose lining with pocket, used plastic mesh for the bag base together with bag feet. I also quilted the panels on fusible fleece before stitching the panels together.
The fabric was recycled curtain fabric, the zip from a camping chair bag and the metal hardware from an old bag.
All I have to do now is pack, oh and hope my stitching holds!
